AgroIQ is a low cost, interoperable architecture for soil condition sensing and irrigation decision support, designed and documented by Carlos Andrés Yoncón Changkuón. This page states what is published, on what terms, and what is not.
What is published
- The technical record of the architecture: its four layers and the interfaces between them, the design decisions and the alternatives rejected, the security controls and the requirements for deploying them, and the register of open items.
- The bill of materials, component by component.
- The uplink payload specification, in enough detail for an independent builder to write a decoder in any language.
- The provisioning and calibration procedures.
All of it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Anyone may build, adapt and deploy the architecture, and publish their own version. Attribution is the only condition.

What is not published
The development instance that runs this architecture, with its source code, configuration, credentials and data, is not part of this publication. What is released is the specification, which any implementer can build from in the language of their choice. Metricas.net LLC holds the equipment, cloud accounts and site agreements for that work.
Data
Who owns the data is settled in writing with each site before a sensor goes into the ground. The farm retains ownership of its agronomic and operational information.
Why the design is published
The Government Accountability Office identified three reasons precision agriculture has not reached small and midsize farms: what the equipment costs to acquire, uncertainty over who owns the data and who may share it, and the absence of uniform interoperability standards (GAO-24-105962, January 2024). An architecture only its author can build adds to the last of those, which is why this one is published.
